Becks Is Back!
By: fetyani | December 31st, 2008
So let’s get this going. I’m Fetyani and I’m a Milanista first and last, that’s almost everything. I’m also the blogger of Ronaldinho @ The Offside. Since this blog has been on hiatus for the past couple of months, I thought I’d take over and write about another Milan player. Though my duty ends when David leaves A.C. Milan (most likely March 9th).

Who is David Beckham? Well if you don’t know him, then I suggest you get out from the rock you’ve been under for the last decade. He is actually “The Most Popular Athlete in the World” and he’s married Posh-Spice. He’s not your average player, he is a brand!

He played for two European Giants, winning quite a few silverware with both teams on a high level. With Manchester United, 1993-2003, winning 6 Premier League’s and a UEFA Champions League. With Real Madrid, 2003-2007, 1 Spanish La Liga’s; not too shabby. With England he did well, but well doesn’t cut it in this football world, only silverware do.

At the age of 32, David did something that shocked the world. $200 million in 4 years to live in La La Land [Los Angeles] and kick a rounded ball that’s not basketball or baseball, or even golf. They call it “Soccer”! I know!! In his defense, you can’t completely blame him, his European career was almost over [that’s what we thought] and he secured his future financially for the next…lifetime.

AC Milan almost signed David in the summer of 2007, but L.A Galaxy’s offer was so tempting he decided to move to the City of Angles. Why did he join Milan? The MLS season ends before the European leagues and David needs to stay fit and impress England Coach Don Fabio Capello. Now it’s 2009, Beckham will play from January until March 9th, after that they have a gentleman’s agreement with L.A Galaxy to send him back by then. (Unless he decides to stay, which is also likely).
Next blog I’ll get into the serious stuff, Beckham situation in Milan, presentation in Milan & Dubai Training.
For now enjoy this Beckham Video,

i plan to write about the player, not the celebrity model.
ive seen him more in LA Lakers games (court side) than Galaxy. unless he decided to join Toronto FC, then ill be his stalker. but for now, only “real” football.
yes i think i do have a tiny problem with the MLS.

he made the biggest mistake to move to l.a galaxy. imo he was too materialistic he went their for the money. i remember madrid offering him contract renewal but he declined. but chose money, which has gotten him nowhere. one thing he doesn’t know about american business men is that they control your money and him. also i’m sure he would have gotten similar money had he stayed in europe
