Two More Armani Photos

By: jen | Comments 2 Comments

I’m on vacation and will be back with a vengeance in a few weeks.  But I just received these new photos and wanted to add them to the list while I was thinking of it.
For the record, I don’t care if the bulge is enhanced or not.  I’ve seen photos of him in his uniform [...]

Out of the Running

By: jen | Comments 4 Comments

Beckham is out of the running as long term captain for England, according to The Independent.  It looks as though Terry and Ferdinand are the finalists for the England armband.  It is also reported that, surprisingly, Becks would have been in contention for the job had he been based in England.

Captain Beckham

By: jen | Comments 10 Comments

Yep, he got it.  Likely more a PR move than a long term consideration by Capello.  That’s okay.  Beckham gets that.  Most of us get that.  It’s all good.  Looking forward to the game tomorrow.

Beckham Being Considered for Captaincy

By: jen | Comments 3 Comments

Just throwing this into the mix before I go to bed, since it is early morning in Europe and my Google alerts are going crazy.
From The Independent:
David Beckham is a shock contender to be named England captain for tomorrow’s friendly against Trinidad & Tobago. The game has been arranged so that the Football Association can [...]

Post Wembley Match

By: jen | Comments 1 Comment

As stated earlier, I’m filling in at the Galaxy Offside and so will be sparse around here. However, I’ve been receiving numerous links of interesting bits and debate re. Beckham. Andrea Canales over at Sideline Views has the best linkage, so I’ll send you all over there for now.
I can’t leave without linking [...]

Beckham at Wembley

I’m looking forward to Wednesday’s friendly against the US. Being American, and a big Landon Donovan fan, I’m not sure who to root for. It doesn’t really matter to me who wins, I just want to see some great soccer. Hopefully Capello will get some better looks at his team and will [...]

Beckham’s 70 Yard Goal

By: jen | Comments 3 Comments

What a crowd pleaser!!
This goal made me all giggly, warm, and fuzzy inside. What a fun goal, destined for highlight reels everywhere.
In Andrea Canales’ interview with Landon Donovan, he had this to say about the goal:
“Honestly, I told David, ‘I’d probably put that out for a throw-in somewhere,’ just because [...]

And then my favorite soccer columnist, Grahame Jones of the LA Times, has this to say about the incident.

Beckham #7 Ranked MLS Foreign Player

By: jen | Comments 3 Comments

I found this interesting piece on foreign players and their impact in MLS. Beckham is ranked #7, with the reasoning below:
7- David Beckham, LA Galaxy
Despite the hullabaloo about the “Beckham effect,” it has been a mostly off the field phenomena. Beckham needs good players around him to excel and in MLS no team has [...]

Beckham Named To English Squad

By: jen | Comments No Comments

Again. Good for you, Becks! And I’m reporting this a day late because I’ve been concentrating my efforts filling in for Laurie at The LA Galaxy Offside. So, for Galaxy-related Beckham news, please stop by. Otherwise, I will be popping in here for more international Beckham news.
I cannot WAIT to watch [...]
